Job Description

A unique opportunity awaits for an experienced educator specializing in special education. This full-semester contract position is based in Boston, MA, within a vibrant middle school setting, focusing on supporting students with diverse learning needs from January 2025 until the end of the school year.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide inclusion support to students with special education needs, ensuring an adaptable and responsive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress toward their goals.
  • Evaluate students for eligibility and re-eligibility for special education services, generating comprehensive reports on assessments.
  • Actively participate in and chair IEP meetings, fostering a collaborative approach to each student's education.

Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education License in Moderate Disabilities (5-8).
  • Sheltered English Immersion Endorsement preferred.
  • Previous experience in a middle school setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
