Job Description
Majestic Steel is looking for a Skid/Pallet Builder to join our team on second shift! Our Skid/Pallet Builders create a Majestic Experience by building our skids/pallets to order- this ensures our material, no matter how it's processed, is arriving to our customers in the condition they are expecting it. This is the perfect opportunity for someone with a carpentry background, excels in a fast pace environment, and embraces teamwork. Please note second shift hours are Monday-Friday, 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm.
Responsibilities: - Builds skids and pallets according to Majestic Steel and/or customer specifications
- Prioritize and plan ahead to meet production deadlines
- Operate all warehouse equipment in a safe and reliable manner
- Report all equipment failures to immediate supervisor
- Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines
- Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards. Items may include: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, etc.
- Assist in other areas on as needed basis
- Other job related duties and special projects as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements: - Experience with the use of hand tools, including up-cut saw and circular saw
- Read tape measure and follow detailed work instructions
- Operate assigned equipment in a safe, effective and efficient manner
- Maintain neat and orderly conditions in work area and help maintain and promote safe conditions throughout the facility
- Work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years construction or manufacturing experience
Additional: - Must be able to frequently lift and/or move objects up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to stand up to 10 hours per day
- Must be able to walk; sit; stand; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Must be able to work in both hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather conditions
- Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
