Job Description

Job Summary:

As a General Motors Transmission Tech at Delray Buick GMC, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining transmissions for GM vehicles. This is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry, located in Delray Beach, Florida. This is an individual contributor role, meaning you will work independently and report to the Service Manager.

Compensation & Benefits:

The compensation for this position is $45 to $60 per hour, paid biweekly. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid time off, retirement savings plans, and ongoing training opportunities. Hourly rate will be dictated by experience level and General Motors Global Connect Training Level

Closed on all Major Holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, December 24th and December 25th)

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and diagnose transmission issues on GM vehicles using specialized diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform necessary repairs and replacements to transmissions, including removing and installing transmission components.
  • Complete routine maintenance on transmissions to ensure proper function and longevity.
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of all work performed, including parts and labor used.
  • Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding recommended repairs and estimated timeline for completion.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working on vehicles.
  • Keep work area clean and organized at all times.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience working as a transmission technician on GM vehicles.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair both manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software specific to GM vehicles.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
