Overview EC Bus Monitor role at Wayne County Public Schools. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Some experience in working with students (experience with physically handicapped and/or related, where applicable). Responsibilities To ride on a school bus and assist the driver with the safety, movement, management, and care of students boarding the bus, leaving the bus, or being transported on it. Follow all rules, policies, and procedures, along with regulations pertaining to the Transportation Department. Maintain order on the bus, and report discipline problems to the proper staff. Make certain that students are seated while the bus is in motion. Supervise the loading and unloading of the bus. Help students cross highways safely when needed. Assist students and drivers as needed. Assist in keeping discipline on the bus. Assure that seat belts and other safety restraining devices are used, and that they are securely fastened. Assist the driver with all turnarounds. Perform other related duties as directed by the Supervisor/Coordinator.
