Patient Access Specialist Department: Clinics FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports To: Clinic Co-Managers Overview This position schedules patient appointments to maintain a steady flow for health care providers and registers patients for outpatient departments. Essential Functions Must be able to work well with the public. Registering patients — ER/Outpatients and Clinics. Answering phones in a timely manner. Keeping medical records up to date. Logging of daily payments. Filling out outpatient sheets when necessary. Collection of cash payments. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications / Education Minimum age sixteen (16) High School Diploma or GED Experience Previous receptionist experience in a hospital or clinic setting preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Professional and discrete manner at all times. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
