The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Responsibilities Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: Position supports the design and development of mechanical, fluids, structural and electrical Ground Support Equipment (GSE) utilizing 3D CAD modeling/drafting software. The selected Designer/Drafter will provide technical Drafting, Modeling, and product structure support, produce design review packages and support in the configuration management of the documentation. Depending on the project type, work can vary from modifying drawing packages to creating new drawing packages for 30/60/90 percent design reviews, participating in conceptual design ideas for GSE in support of Orion, Space Launch System, Artemis, International Space Station, and Launch Services Programs. Must have ability to successfully interface with, Shop Technicians, Design Engineers, Checkers, and configuration Management, and manage completion of tasks on schedule and within budget to the customer's satisfaction. Must be well organized, extremely flexible, and capable of multitasking. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - External High School Diploma or equivalent; four years related experience. Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised. Proficiency using CREO Parametric and Windchill is required, and certification is highly desirable. Experience applying NASA engineering standards in a design environment is highly desirable.
