Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in acro or gymnastics and possess the ability to teach students of all ages, from 6 years old to teens. The Dance Instructor will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans, managing classroom dynamics, and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages creativity and self-expression.

Classes run September to June. Acro dance classes for ages 6 and up will be held on Wednesdays from 4pm to 8pm. All candidate must have prior experience teaching acro or gymnastics classes. We are looking for someone to teach our level 1, 1/2, and 2 classes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
• Instruct students in various dance styles, focusing on technique, rhythm, and performance.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
• Provide individualized attention to students, adapting teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
• Organize and lead rehearsals for performances, ensuring students are well-prepared for showcases.
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to create a cohesive curriculum that promotes student growth.
• Maintain open communication with students and parents regarding progress and areas for improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in teaching dance is required.
• Background in childcare or experience working with children is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in acro is essential; knowledge of other dance styles is a plus.
• Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage students effectively.
• Experience working with diverse student populations, including special education needs, is beneficial.
• Familiarity with lesson planning techniques that cater to different learning styles.
• A passion for dance and education, along with the ability to inspire students of all ages.
